If you follow me you will know I am a solo camper. Very rarely do I camp in a group. Just my family (the girls) and close friends, never more than a couple people.
Well Leigh a friend has been at me for the past couple years to join him in going up to the annual WINTER CAMPING SYMPOSIUM. Every year the timing has been off with my schedule. But this year I was open. So reluctantly went along.
Well a long story short I will be going back. I surprised myself by how much I enjoyed meeting these people. What a great group. All having the same interests …a real joy of the outdoors.
Check the video below of my trip with Leigh.

I have been woodworking and whittling for a long time. Mostly just random sticks found and whittled on with no real direction. Just enjoy the process. I use what ever edc pocket pal I am carrying at the time.
Well a couple weeks ago I went camping with Lright at the winter symposium and meet a couple of young guys who where whittling away. Well I saw there results and thought wow. I gotta pay attention to this.
So here you go my first attempts at some spoons apply named by yours truly.
I really enjoyed this and will be doing alot more of this whittling stuff with some direction. Lol

Generally when it comes to edc pocket knives I tend to prefer the old fashioned traditional style, especially when it comes to something like a Scout Knife. But Marbles is kinda winning me over here here with the new G-10 Series of knives.
This G-10 Scout is certainly very nice although non traditional. Has good size and the color and scales work well
Remember not all old ways are the best ways.

While visiting family in California I went a wondering on the farm. While out trudging the side of a rocky hill I came across a small piece of wood. Twisted and bent I caught my eye. Put it in my pocket and trudged on.
Apon returning to home I found it still in my pocket so pulled it out and thought it would make a great wooden handle for something. Well here you go.
Diy wooden handle for your favorite ferro rod fire starter.
Simple to do with any small piece if wood and a little imagination.

Well if you like me I like to cook alot when camping, trudging or just outdoors. Any excuse to have a meal and a cuppa Joe gets me going.
Well there I was and came acrossvthis gem from ROUGH RYDER KNIVES. Yep a foldingbchef knife…wait folding Sous Chef knife actually. Well zI consider myself the Sousu Chef in my Cottage so there you go…..
This is a great knife for any cooking. Indoor or out. It’s as sharp as you would expect of a food prep knife and it folds….way to convenient not to go immediately to take its well deserved place as my new camping kitchen knife.
Check out my review and quick kitchen test.

Knowing people can be very inexpensive. Huh! Well a friend at work texted me and said he found a good deal on a knife so he got me one as well. Yep on sale and I paid nothing. Cannot beat that price. This is what I got.
Many thanks Eddie.
