If you like me. I hate knots. I am bad at them and never seem to get them right…then I have to pack up and the knots are a mess.
Well here is one way I found to cut down on dealing with knots.
Check out the link to the video below. Of course it was an excuse to play with a sharp and shinny aswell.

Once in awhile it happens. I did for me. I have been living in Minnesota now for 5 years. I had been told about this Minnesota treasure by a number of people. I took it as a pinch of salt.
Then a couple months ago 2 work friends came to me and said it was time to go. I agreed and we started planing a trip up north to the Boundry Waters. Both my friends had been there a number of times. Leigh who I have many trudges with, fly fishing and even a hot tent camp in winter with. And Will who takes me to little fly fishing treasures where he grew up. Both share my love of the outdoors. We like to do the same things outsiders and I am lucky to call them my friends.
Leigh got the permits and planned a route we would take. He gave us a list of what we can take and why…We would be traveling around in a canoe. So space and weight was optimum. We were all used to minum carry, so no problem there.
Unfortunately I had no idea of the experience I was about to have. Life changing for me. It really opened my eyes to true wilderness, How I did not miss just about no man made noise. Lack of other people and the shear beauty of this wonderful place.
Let me try to share the trip I took into the wilderness in a Treasure only found in Minnesota.
5 years to get to and it will not be my last…that’s assured.
Check the link below to join Leigh, Will and Myself revealing into the wonderful place

I found this online and thought that Gerber had finally made a folder I like the look of. So…Here I have it.
Unfortunately I had some issues…Kinda disappointed with Gerber about this.
Simple QA should have taken care of this but Gerber missed these VERY obvious flaws. A first for me with Gerber.
However I was able to fix myself. But still left a little icky feeling about Gerbers Quality control.

Well I have looked at a lot of folding knives lately including Rough Ryder Knives. Rough Ryder has a huge collection and I have been looking at a lot of Them. I “like” them all. Well made, sharp and pretty. What can I say.
However I finally found the one. Yep don’t like this one I fell in love with it. Finally a folding knife that does not have a clip point on a multiple bladed folding knife. I am not a fan of Clip point blades. AND JOY, this does not have one. Instead a “Wharncliffe blade”. Heard of them but never done any touchy feely on one.
Unusual looking blade but very versatile for the heavier duty jobs for a small folder.

These Kershaw Knives were reccomended to me by a colleague at work. So took a look see. Was not dissapointed. This Kershaw select Fire was a little different. Not a multi-tool. Rather a folding knife first, with some extras. Check it out in my review below

I needed a compact seat for future fishing trips that would not break the bank, and not take up space. Well looked at these types of chairs and was horrified at the cost. Then found this guy.babout 1/2 the cost of other popular ones.
Had my doubts but when it arrived I was very impressed. Everything I hoped for. Perfect for what I need.

I needed a compact packable daypack for an upcoming trip up north. We will be Canoeing and have a Basecamp. We will be hiking and Canoeing from the base camp so because space is limited I needed to have a daypack I could take and use on the day excursions from our base.
Found this pack from Klymit. Should be perfect for its job.
