After a dissaterous day fly fishing with my 3wt Cabela’s flyrod. I lost the tip after getting caught in a tree branch for the unteenth time.
I decided to look at replacing it. To my horror I remembered I had bought SAGE rod about 5 years ago on a whim from Cabelas that I came across in the bargain cave.
Fortunately because Cabelas did not have replacements for my 3wt piece I lost. So decided to take forgotten Sage for a spin.
What joy

I am always looking for a good EDC pocket folding knife. I have a few, Ok a lot of them. I always have one on me, no matter where I am going or doing.
My OPINEL No 8 is the one I carry and use the most. Especially at work.

But lately I have been looking for a folder EDC for outside of work and my frequent trudge and camping outdoors. Something that will suit any occation outside of those. Basically a casual or more suttle knife for more formal or casual outings with friends in town.
I did not have a specific style or design in mind. Just one that would look the part.
It took awhile but I finally found one that will suit.
Designed by the late Kit Carson and made by CRKT out of Kentucky. It is from the Carson M4 series. Model number M4-02W.
When I first saw this knife, its not a new 2021 knife it came out awhile ago, I was immediately taken by its look. Not your usual folding knife. The Handle catches the eye right away and the over all shape is different from your run of the mill folders. I thought right away it could be the one.

So dusted off the wallet and broke my bank budget for these. A little more money than I would I would normally spend on something like this. Turns out to be a good decision for once. Not my norm. I can drop some made decisions because I tend to think with my heart not my mind.
I was impressed enough (A lot more to it then meets the eye) to take the time to share on my You Tube channel ( 2nd Chance George). Interested, take a look at my quick review of the CRKT M4-02W.
My Posh EDC.

I finally found one. I hope. I have been looking for awhile for a combination chest pack and backpack system to use when going outdoors flyfishing.
I have a single chestpack that I use when going on a quick outing flyfishing locally. Lately though, I have been going out for a daytrip flyfishing in more remote area. I was using my chestpack and my smaller bushcraft daypack.
I wanted to combine them and started looking for one. This turned out to be harder than I thought.
Very few options available. The one I decided on was based on price. It is a good system but….
I am 5’8″ and 180 lbs. It was just to big. I try adjusting it to the smallest it would go, but alas just a little too loose for me.
So back I went back and came across this system. After a little hesitation I decided to get. It was twice as expensive as the first one. On my budget that stung alittle.
So here is the review and test of the AVENTIK Flyfishing chestpack / Backpack combo system.
Ut just might be the one. Although a few issues but nothing I cannot remedy.

Its not often something catches my attention thats not in my normal interest.
This guy got it. And of course had to touchy feel it. Interesting idea. Is it for me. Not sure. It can do most of the typical tasks I would need outdoors. But it has some limitations.
Check it out and let me know what yourthoughts are. Could you use it.
Stay safe out there.

It’s not often you have someone recommend a local county park that lives up to their idea of what you would enjoy.
Agreeing from work who happens to be a subscriber to my channel recommended this little county park. What a joy it turned out to be.
Check it out

Going fly fishing for me is not all about fishing and catching. Although nabbing a couple nice Bass or Crappue sure helps. But if you watch my fishing videos thats not always, Ok thats not what happens most times.
I usually find myself wondering around the waters edge looking at the little things growing, crawling or just setting there. I normally would not show this on Video. I feel that most veiwers are there to see fishing and and would loose interest in the video. But I wanted to show that its not just about the fishing.
Its the outdoors and being in nature for me. The little creatures you will find at the waters edge keep me amuse during the fishing drouts I often have.
So here you go. I thought I would share some of those wonders at a local in town fishing spot.
Remember Always Be Safe. And leave no trace so the next outdoor lover who comes along can enjoy all those wonders too.
Enjoy

Sometimes I , ( Ok a lot of times ) I find I cannot entice anyfish near a fly. Fortunately I am easily amused and find my self taking a little close look at where I am. And finding alot of small wonderful joys that nature has provided me for those times I need to step away.
Always a joy to see. Thought I would share my last fishing skunk with you. This is what distractions Nature provided.
Theres more to nature and then just being there.
